5 Organizations to Support this #GivingTuesday and Why

amburcsmith

All month long, we’re encouraging our community to give thanks and give back. As a social impact law firm, we can think of countless organizations worth investing in this #GivingTuesday; but the following stand out for their unique missions and relevance in the current socioeconomic and political landscape:

1. iFLY Youth is committed to cultivating the next generation of global leaders by introducing girls of color to international travel and community building. With your help, next summer, they will be taking their 5th cohort to Panama! Donate here: https://ifly-youth.org/donate/

2. Scope Of Work Co. (SOW), a creative talent agency, is committed to empowering BIPOC creatives, ages 17-24, through free professional development programming and fellowships with corporate partners; donate here: https://www.scopeofwork.co/donate

3. Project Nana, Inc’s annual health summits and advocacy highlighting the unique concerns of post menopausal aka seasoned women, fill a necessary void in women’s healthcare; donate here.

4. The Washington Bar Association's Educational Foundation is a nonprofit organization affiliated with the WBA that seeks to leverage the generosity of our community to support the WBA’s educational and charitable missions, including providing scholarships and financial assistance to worthy programs that support diversity in the legal profession; donate here.

5. Last, but certainly not least, All Voting is Local is a multistate, nonpartisan organization that fights against state and local voting policies that silence voters of color and other historically marginalized communities and advocates for pro-voter policies that expand access to the ballot – not just in election years but every year. Donate here.
